2011-12 Sectional Tournaments: Excerpted below is the note sent to coaches in preparation for the upcoming Sectional Tournament. The purpose of this e-mail is to assist you in beginning your preparations for this year's OHSAA high school bowling tournament. The tournament managers met this week with the Northeast District Athletic Board to organize the Sectional and District tournaments. I will again be serving as TM for the Stark County Sectionals and will be coordinating scoring as a member of the team conducting the Districts in Kent (Twin Star). With the continued growth in the number of schools participating, the East and Southeast districts will be conducting their own tournament and Carrollton, Minerva and Sandy Valley will be joining the teams that previously have joined the Stark County Sectional. The 13 schools participating in Stark County in 2012 include the following: Alliance, Central Catholic, Heritage Christian, GlenOak, Hoover, Jackson, Lake, Massillon, McKinley, Perry, St. Thomas Aquinas, Timken and Wooster. The Boys will bowl at Eastbury on Saturday, 11Feb12 with competition starting at 9 a.m. The Girls will bowl at Park Centre on Saturday, 18Feb12 with competition starting at 9 a.m. I will cover more details at the pre-tournament meeting, but if you have questions, please feel free to contact me by e-mail or to give me a call. With Canton South registering for the OHSAA tournament, four (4) highest scoring teams and four (4) highest scoring individuals from non-advancing teams will advance to the District tournaments at Twin Star Lanes in Kent on Saturday, 25Feb12 for Boys and Sunday, 26Feb12 for Girls. The five (5) highest scoring teams and the five (5) highest scoring individuals from non-advancing teams from the Northeast District tournament will advance to the State tournaments at Wayne Lanes in Columbus on Friday, 03Mar12 for Boys and Saturday, 04Mar12 for Girls. Boys Sectional Congratulations to all for your efforts and good performances at the Boys Sectional tournament at Eastbury Bowling Center. Team qualifiers were led by Perry with Jackson, TImken and McKinley. Individuals qualifying included Ronnie Brimlow - Alliance (748 with 300), Mark Reed - GlenOak (709), Anthony Inzetta - Hoover (699 with 289) and Mark Haubert - Central Catholic (694). Girls Sectional Congratulations to all for your efforts and good performances at the Girls Sectional tournament at Park Centre Lanes. Team qualifiers were led by Jackson with Perry, Hoover and Wooster. Individuals qualifying were led by Kelly McDermitt - Timken (603), Krista Leonard (598) and Lea Lin (597) - Massillon, and Kerra Sole - GlenOak (592).
